Parental Consent
There’s no requirement for parental consent for any of the three main ways to get married in India.
Online Marriage
India does not have provisions for online marriages. The bride, groom, and witnesses must all be physically present.
Required Documents
- Proof of Date of Birth: Any one of the following is acceptable—birth certificate, school certificate, driving license, or passport of the bride and groom.
- Proof of Address: Voter ID, Aadhaar card, driving license, passport, or government bank passbook of the bride or groom.
Witnesses
- General Requirement: Two witnesses with PAN cards and address proofs.
- Special Marriage Act: Requires three witnesses.
Photographs
- Six passport-size photos of both the bride and groom.
- Two passport-size photos of each witness.
Foreign Nationals
- Special assistance with additional fees is available for foreign clients under the Hindu Marriage Act (Options 1 and 2) and the Special Marriage Act (Option 3).
- A no-objection certificate (NOC) or single status certificate from the embassy is required for foreigners.
